Port Dover : Residents, County Gather At Informal Meeting
CD98: Adam Liefl - May 21, 2009
Norfolk citizens are having the chance to face our councillors one-on-one to discuss their issues. Yesterday at the Port Dover Community Centre was the first in a round of four Informal Town Hall Meetings this year. The evening turned out to be more of a group discussion, but the councillors did take individual questions afterward. Deputy Mayor, Jim Oliver, tells CD 98.9 they will follow up on some of the issues bought up at the meeting. They included 2 or 3 big issues, topped by the Bruce Power Environmental Assessment towards the building of a nuclear power plant, and property assessments and taxation. The questions were recorded for council to take away from the meeting. The next Town Hall Meeting will take place at the Langton Community Centre on June 25th.
