Proposed Nuclear Site Referred To Review Panel
CD98: Ashley DeGroote - June 24, 2009
The proposed nuclear power plant in Nanticoke has been referred to an independent review panel. Canada's Environment Minister Jim Prentice's decision is based on a recommendation made by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission. Prentice says it's the best way to address public concerns about the project and he is confident the panel will fully consider the environmental issues related to the proposed project and make sound recommendations to the federal government.
